I bought the Harbor Freight one with the 9" sides... does NOT fit. Hits the spare tire big time. Barely goes into the reciever. Will be taking it to work tomorrow and do some modifying. Attaching pics so i hope they load.

So how do you open the cargo area once this is fitted???

Here is my solution, and cargo area can still be opened with trailer fitted:

I've got the same carrier and had the same problem. Fixed it with one of these from Harbor Freight.

Update... When i said it did not fit, that was in the dark lol. 2 days later i tried it in the daylight and it DOES fit. It barely slides into the reciever and the pin DOES go in. The problem now is it wobbles all over and bumps the spare tire cover. I do like that idea of the 12" hitch extender so i may try that but i'm def gonna get something to tighten it up. Amazon sells one with a anti tilt

Just shim the basket or buy an anti tilt bracket buy itself. No need to buy an entirely new basket.

'HitchMate' make an anti-wobble kit that is a plastic plastic insert that houses a 5/8" nut that fits into all 2" receiver mounts. Instead of using a 5/8" pin, it takes a 5/8" bolt that when you tighten, it takes out all the slop and makes the carrier rock solid. I've got them on my carrier and bike rack. I couldn't download a pic, but if you go to page 9 of their catalog on their website you can see it. Official Home of Heininger Holdings, LLC | Car, Truck and SUV products
