high mileage 2008 H2
i am about to get 2008 hummer H2 with 105k miles. clean carfax. no too much service record available except oil change and alligments provided in carfax. never own hummer so i like to get opinion about pros and cons, reliability and maintenance of particular H2. thx
105k is NOT high mileage by HUMMER standards. Depends on how it has been driven. Is this in Europe or elsewhere? If Europe then I would expect not toomany mechanical issues, mostly electrical from not using all the features. If US it will come down to who owned it before and how it was driven.
Common issues to all are folding mirror problems, leaking roof lights, 4wd sync motor not always working, worn out front hubs, rear air suspension issues with leaking lines, fittings or airbags.

also HummerXforum claims changing stock tires with bigger ones would cause these problems:
""You'll lose some low-end torque, as you will have effectively changed the gear ratio.
Your speedometer will read low.
Larger diameter tires are usually heavier, putting more stress on the drive line and suspension.
Wider tires may cause a little wandering on the highway and increase rolling resistance.""
anyone swithced to bigger tires had any bad experience?
thanks

It really depends.
My 2003 had 130k+ miles & it really only needed a new fuel pump (big deal).
My 2009 was bought with 106k miles & it's suspension was really worn out & I'm having some power train issues. I suspect it was used & abused. I barely paid anything out of pocket for it, long story.
In general, they are tough vehicles that last.
If you're upgrading to 37s or larger and/or offroading, upgrade to heavy duty tie rods.
The H2 is based on the GM 2500 platform. Other than custom body parts/interior parts, the power train & suspension is the same. Duramax Store sells really heavy duty OEM suspension upgrades if you don't plan on lifting it (or if you are, they do offer some things). They are worth it if you upgrade or just want stuff to last a very long time.
