Default High Brake Light Replacement

Hello Everyone, this is my first post. My wife just bought a 2008 H3 Alpha
in Signal Flare Metallic and the high brake light stopped working. Can
someone please help me with some info as we are having a hard time
changing the bulb. Thank you, and we are happy to be in the Hummer
Family!!

Individual bulbs are not replaceable. They're LED's and you have to replace the entire assembly....not cheap! Possibly just a loose connection somewhere.

Indeed, what Broken said... the whole assembly would need to be replaced and the process is NOT fun...

Hello and Welcome from MI! Congrats on your new ride. The light is not that difficult to swap out but I would take the time to see if you have a loose connection @ the light itself.

By the way it's Solar Flare Metallic!

Welcome.

Mine is half burned out. When it pukes and I have time I'll deal with it.

I like the idea of converting to some kind of bulb instead of the pricey LED.

Be careful removing the swing gate trim panels. The lower panel uses plastic Christmas tree clips which aren't a problem (use a trim panel removal tool), but the upper panel uses metal wedge clips, and the molded retainer tabs for them, on the panel, break off easily.

Hello,
This is coming from someone who just replaced their "high brake light" on my 07 H3. The job is not difficult at all but you do need to be careful when taking off the back panel so the clips don't break. Had mine in and out in less then 10 minutes. Bad part is that as everyone says they are not repairable and you do need to purchase a new unit. The cheapest I found the part was from "gmpartsdirect.com" for $119 plus shipping (which was about $20). It took about 3 weeks to get it, but I got it and it is in and working fine.
