So I was ripping home tonight passing some people in the slow lane when something let loose... I pulled off and had a grinding noise from the tranny area, but all the gears worked... looked underneath and sparks were flying out of the small gap between the cummins and the nv4500, so I shut her down. When I tried to restart, the starter just spun but didn't grab... I figured I'd sheared the flywheel off. Turns out my 600hp clutch was the culprit...

The reason it wouldn't restart is the excess clutch material had collected in the starter housing, so the starter wasn't able to push all the way to the flywheel to spin it. About 8 months and 5k on that clutch... that'll be an interesting conversation with that company tomorrow

The Hummer still looks great... its just missing a bunch of important stuff... grr.... I was just finishing my brake controller install and getting ready to go haul a load too...

They sure will... I got the out of warranty runaround at first, but after I sent the pic in they said yep we'll warranty that now the tranny's at the shop getting a pile of beefy parts and a new clutch is on the way... dumping money into my big red turd is becoming such a bad habit... but its worth it every time I hit the throttle

that's an impressive looking H1, I had that happen to me in my 79 camaro, the only difference was that the noise was so ridiculous loud that I couldn't go down the street anymore because it was killing my ears
