Default Help with Suspension

Hey Guys

My 2008 Hummer H3.

currently looking to give the shocks a change. had the car from brand new, and its performed well. Over here we have sand dunes, so thats all its used for mainly.

The suspension is currently stock. All i have added is the extended rear shackles and adjusted the torsion bars up front. Seems leveled to me for more than a year now.

The car had gotten really bouncy at the moment. i need some stiff springs to take the beating out in the dunes, ofcourse to lift it a bit more i am ok with.

Do you guys have any recommendations for me? on a proper lift no spending to much as i have to ship it here?

Any advice is great!

Thanks

Welcome to HF!

Shocks DO NOT provide lift.

I have to ask.... what is the measurement from your front fender lip to hub center?

We have heard that "bouncy" ride comment before, too many times.

PS, we got dunes over here, no need to beat anything but the dunes. Air down to 12PSI, turn the traction control OFF, an H3 can go anywhere.

Hey

Thanks for the reply.

Well i have to measure again since its been a while i did. the problem is the hummer has the Side stock fender flare, which i assume you cant get a accurate reading compared to the other side? I leveled the car years ago, and till today it seems fine, straight, and touches on the inside on full left or right lock. I remember putting a pot here somewhere of the pics etc. but cant find it at the moment.

Yes you are right, it can go anywhere, but it would be better to change shocks since i had it from 2008. Its just to bouncy at the moment! and the things i do, im guessing i can use em.

I put in these recently. 9-way adjustability so you can dial-in for regular and off-road driving.

I went with procomp es9000s, and they have worked well on and off road.

I took a look at those, and their pretty expensive the rancho. thats the best one they have.

I looked into the Bilstein 5100, how is that offroad?

So...... I guess you are not going to answer my question: what is the measurement from your front fender lip to hub center?

No answer, I got better things to do. Good luck.

Don't worry, I don't think anyone measures or has stated measurements with the flares installed. This may help you figure the ride height if you want to do a little math. I have 23 5/8" from center of the wheel to the fender lip w/out flares. Measured from the ground on 1 year old 35's, the bottom of my orange side marker is 38 1/4". Just do the math for your tires.
