Help with part identifying.
My original question was “has anyone ever had this problem. My local GM dealership was the one who directed me to dorman. As they didn’t have one available. I didn’t go for the cheap way out. The upper shaft I bought was OEM. Lower was not available. Thank you guys for your help and I’m so sorry for causing such confusion. I’ve read my original post several times to check if I was asking a stupid question. Guess I just don’t understand what this forum was about. Party on

I recently had to replace my upper steering shaft due to a rusted U joint. So I figured I would change both

the upper and lower shaft. Well when I received the parts from dorman. The lower shaft was 2 inches shorter
the the one I removed. Needles to say I didn’t replace the lower. When I contacted dorman they say it is the only
part number listed. Maybe we sent the incorrect part with the correct part number. They promptly sent out another.
But it was the same thing.. now I dont know what part number I need. Has any ever had this problem?
