Default Help from Hummer Group

Electrical problems
Headlights
The headlights on my H-1 are flashing when turn off, and the engine is running. It's just the head lights not the running lights or side markers. The flashing is at a steady rate does not increase engine RPM.
I'm looking for ideas too check.
Thanks

Default The flashing light are getting worse.

The flashing light are getting worse, now the running light are flashing.
They still flash at a steady rate, engine RPM does not affect the flashing rate.
I'm thinking the alternator is going out.
Do any of you have any ideas.

Thank
GBergie

Of corse it could be anything but i would check the grounds. If somthing has a poor ground it can back feed voltage into the ground of another circuit. Are the lights dim or normal brightness? If you have any afternarket electronics i would start there. Do the lights always flash when the key is on? You could start pulling fuses one at a time untill it quits and then you know what circuit the problem is in.

When the light are turned on there bright and no flashing
When the light are turned off all the lights flash ( both head lights and running lights). When it first started just the head lights flashed at about off for 2 seconds and on for about 2 seconds. Now all the lights flash but at a faster rate. About 1/2 second on and about 1/2 second off. And not very bright.
Not on long enough to get very bright.
I don't had any after market items, I.E. alarm system or remote start
I do have driving lights that are tied in to the high beams, but there not flashing

I would unplug the driving lights relay power and see if it makes a change. Are any of your lights LED? If so do you have the resistors wired in? Is the cruse control also not working?

When you find the issue please post info on the cause and repair needed. Maybe my brother will chime in here, he is really good at electrical issues. Sounds to me like to remaing power from a different circuit is grounding through your light circuit.

Default I'll give it a try

I will try your ideas. ( driving lights)
Yes I have LED tail lights with a resistor. I've had them for 3 years with no problem. My Cruise control work just fine. But it on my list of thing to look into this weekend.

Again thank for the ideas to look at

what kind of lights do you have? I've got Truck Lites and they seem to be failing. When the engine wasn't on I noticed that they strobed. With the engine on they look fine but are only half the power they should be now. I'm looking to replace them. I'd like to think it is a ground but I don't think that would explain my issues. I might have got a bad batch.
