I took my fuse box top off today, and blew out the dust in my fuse box. Now get this. After i put it back on (just blew air on the fuses) and I turned the car on, it sounded like it was choking, and was shaking back and forth. Now the engine light is on, and it's telling me that the Stability System is malfunctioning. The car is in limp-mode and i can only drive it about 20 mph. Any idea if I did somethign by accident in the fuse box? It's saturday and i'm looking at a tow.

Ok, for anyone that has had like 4 codes appear, and everything seem to "melt down" at once here is what I did, and so far it has fixed it.

I removed the fuse for the ABS system and the 4x4 for the rear. Numbers 29 and 30 on the fuse box. When i put them back in, the car started just fine. It was VERY dusty in there, so I'm thinking that when i used a compressor to blow the dust out, i must have shorted something in there. The engine light is still on, so i'm still going to take it in. Thanks for all the help.

It probably stored a code..Try cycling the ignition about 10 times (start and stop the engine)..Somewhere in that many times it should clear the code (if problem no longer exists)

 

GRR it's back again. Either i still have a short some where in the fuse area, or the Stability system is now broken. Nothing left to do but tow to the dealer

 

Go blow it off again..nothing to loose now..and wiggle all the fuses.
