What alrock said. More reading: RE: I changed the oil in the H3 today.....
I just use name brand 10W30. I don't use synthetic because I change oil on regular 4000 to 5000mile basis . . . and the new oils don't break down like they used to 20 years ago anyway.
Use 5w-30 Synthetic. I use Super Tech from Wal*Mart. It is cheaper than the other synthetics, but it gets prety good ratings at "Bob the oil guy" website. I mean, hell, it's oil, it's synthetic. It's going to be better than any conventional oil. And it's cheaper than other synthetics........
If you Google "motor oil" you'll find that Amsoil always comes out on top, although I don't know how. I use Mobil1, it came in second place and it's easier to find. Just about any brand name synthetic will work, the trick to long engine life, no matter what oil you use, is to keep it changed!

My first one is FREE...but after that I will use what I have always been using in all the cars we ever had: Mobil 1
