03 H2, Check ENG Light is on, codes are as follows: P0740,P753,P058,P0785,P1860
I changed out the ignition switch, still in limp and key won't come out. I checked the wires under the shifter, they look good.


HELP!! please

 

I've researched the heck out of this and can't find the elusive wire that might be causing the issue.....

Have u check the shifter cable underneath ur truck where it connect to ur gearbox? hurm... also, since u've changed ur ingnition switch,please look for info regarding immobilizer.

 

I have not checked the shift cable, I will, though! It drives and sets into park just fine, doors unlock and the shifter works as it should, it seems.

this dude had the EXACT same issue, ignition switch fixed it, mine...NO. SO it has to be a wire, correct?! or could it be the lock cylinder?

 

Pull the shifter handle off (allen screw on the upright part of the shaft), then pull the cupholder/shifter cover off. Check the wires under there. One of them is a shifter interlock sense and if it comes loose or gets cut you cannot remove the key from the ignition.

 

thanks! I have all that apart and will check the pig tails and connections. The truck runs 'fine' and I can manually put it in FIRST ands it will down shift to what I think is 2nd.... but the codes still there and key still stuck ... I'll check the wires and update!!!

 

would this cause the Transmission to freak out as well??

 

That I'm not sure of.... I think the shifter interlock can prevent you from either putting it into park or taking it out of park and also will prevent removing the key.

 

Agreed! that's why my thoughts are the it HAS to be a wire, the tranny isn't getting power!
