Opinion's Please .............. I have decided to start looking for a Hummer H-3 - Alpha , with a 5.3 L - V8 , hopefully a 07 considering it most likely will be used for towing small boats ( 22 FT ) and a SXS with an Aluminum Trailer . Thank you for your input , Artie

 

Just curious ........did they ever make an H-3 Alpha , with a 5.3 L- V8 , prior to 07 ?

The V8 option wasn't available until 08. The Alpha will do a good good towing depending on the length and weight of what you are towing. We have towed a 3800# trailer without issue.

 

Hello and Welcome fellow Michigander. As 3Hummers stated you need to look for an 08-10 to get an Alpha. The Alpha is rated to tow up to 6k.
Depending on the total weight of the trailer and boat you should be just fine if it's under 4500lbs. We have towed and hauled many times with trailers around 4500lbs with 4 large humans in the rig and supplies (about 1400lbs). That is just about the max total load for the H3 Alpha.

Thank you everyone and not to mention that i will hopefully find a 08 H 3 Alpha in the near future that i like . Doc Olds , just curious where is boat town USA because i have worked at a few Boat Co's over the last 40 plus years doing Fiberglass repair in my area ? lol
