Name is Ben, currently on assignment in Afghanistan but will be back in about 2 months. Bought a h3 a while back and have decided now that the little 3.7 has about 190,000 miles on her it's time for a swap. Been on the forum for a long time without being a member so I figure it's time. I'm beginning a engine build using a lq4 I pulled from salvage. It'll be going in the h3 in a few months after I rebuild and freshen up the lq4 but I figured I'd make a thread on here when I start for group knowledge and so I can have a record of the build.
I'll be driving the 3.7 till I finish preparing for the swap so it's still fine. Look forward to working with every one and see you on the general forum soon!!

 

Welcome to HF and good luck with that.

Start planning your steering geometry changes and get a set of Alpha T Bars to swap out the originals.

Gonna need aftermarket trans upgrades for that rebuild as well.

 

You will need an Alpha oil pan, different bell housing and I believe a different input shaft to start. @ 190,000 you may as well plan on a transmission rebuild and Tcase rebuild too.
