Greetings all, was a member here many years ago but couldn't get logged in so I just rejoined..

I've been searching for a solid in decent condition H3 for winter use so I can park the S4...Would love to find a nice mall crawler or soccer mom special that hasn't been hammered to death..So far 99.9% of what I'm finding has two pedals, I want three but thats another rant may end up settling on an auto I guess..

My question is, because I've been out of the loop for so long, what do I need to really watch out for in a used H3 ?

I've got the basics that apply to most any used vehicle covered, as a former Jeeper I know the obvious signs of offroad abuse..Hummer specific stuff is what I'm after..

I went back a good 8-10 pages just scanning over the threads this site still rocks..

I always put any miles to cover the country. a good one is worth a trip.
I tried CarMax where I bought a car and was pleased but I cannot make their site show cars!!

I was using autotrader, c-list, ebay, and I think it was cars.com or something similar...I kept my search to like 50-75 miles because I'm back out long haul trucking and just don't have a lot of free time..

 

I couldn't figure out how you edit a post here, that first link you posted was one of the ones I've been searching..

The one in town that really caught my eye was sold, guess they didn't feel the need to update their website..

Gonna throw a leg over the C-14 and take about a 45 min ride to look at two I saw on the same lot....I prefer to take my intial look w/o sales people bothering me..

 

FWIW if anybody is looking in CNY...

This one has oil sprayed back on the under carriage from an apparent oil leak..The frame and under side were rusty not sure but may have been in a front end wreck because some of the front end parts looked new..

This one had the clear coat peeling of the passenger rear fender and trail rash on the body..The under carriage on this one was all rusted also..
