Default headliner cleaning

I've got some black smudges and dirty spots on my headliner. What's everyone using to keep theirs looking nice?

Did some searches, didn't find anything definitive. Thanks in advance for any advice!

I had some dark brown dots above the drivers headrest and a long blue line in back cargo bay that looked like someone slid in something.
I bought Dryel home dry cleaning kit from Walgreens pharmacy (you can get them anywhere)

For reference:
Amazon.com: Dryel In-Dryer Cleaning Starter Kit, Breezy Clean Scent, 1 Kit: Health & Personal Care Amazon.com: Dryel In-Dryer Cleaning Starter Kit, Breezy Clean Scent, 1 Kit: Health & Personal Care

I took one of the fabric dry clean towels (whatever they're called), and cut it into strips , as I didn't need a whole one (neither will you).
I took one of the strips and wrapped it around my finger and dabbed (not scrubbed) the areas. At first it will looked like I made matters worse as the areas were wet and some of the dots smeared and looked to be worse.
I let it sit overnight then the next day I took a dry rag (face clothe) and brushed the area. The spots were gone and the blue line was reduced quite a bit. I repeated the process again on the remaing blue line and the following day it was gone.

The dry clean chemical in the towels releases the dirt, so again, do not scrub the area, dab it. I wrapped my finger and pointed at the areas, if that makes sense.

Good luck, report what you did

Awesome, thank you. I'll give that a try and report back.

Acetone and a VERY clean white cloth. No other colors but white and dab, do not wipe.

Does the trick every time!
