Head Now ?..
This is F....... Unbelievable (sorry the language)
I just found a big coolant leak on the top back.of passenger side engine .. There is coolant everywhere from front to back .. Till.I know no overheat or oil contamination ... Still hopping is only the heather hose but very possible is a crack or head gasket
S....t Im tired of fixing everything on this truck but still love it
In any case how hard is to DIY . is there any upgrade in the gasket or head to.considerate in case a replacement is needed
Thanks in advance

If its the heater hose it will be the stupid connector right at the firewall. Common problem on the GM trucks too. The plastic connector gets brittle with age and pretty much disintegrates. You can get a new connector at most any auto parts store. Hopefully that is all it is.
If its the head gasket, that is a pretty big job. Check your oil for any coolant contamination for one but it sounds like you did. If its milky then there is coolant in the oil. If not and its just the head gasket you can do it but its a big project.
Have to pull the intake off (may as well replace the intake gaskets, knock sensors, valley pan gasket and knock sensor seals, and valve cover gaskets while you are in there unless they have already been changed). Then the coil packs and valve covers, take exhaust manifolds loose (hopefully do not snap any bolts off), then you can pull the heads and inspect things and replace the head gaskets. If you have the heads off you might as well go ahead and clean the valves and all up while they are off. Probably pretty gummed up inside from age...
Here's hoping you just blew a hose is all. The alternative is quite a big project.

Big thanks .
Im going tomdo a pressure test now .
Since I replaced the heater hose and connector a few weeks ago I dont think that will be the issue plus the amount of lost coolant was huge .. Still.want to belive it could be a defective hose/plug
Mixman. ... Yep.it looks like a huge project. After only 2 months of broken wallet cause 2000 in the new tranny
Im not sure I will.send it to a shop for repair
unless the job comes with parts and labor under 800 which I see very improbably
I saw the problem yesterday at night when got home . I check the oil and seems fine
Everything on top of the heads was replaced a few months ago due an oil leak on the valley
now you mentioned the exhaust is going to give me a big headache ... Many bolts are already broken
will keep posted

Yeeeeeeeeeeeey ...... AT least this time it gave me a break
Just a quick inspection I found the heater hose disconnected from the wall... The connector looks fine but I cant trust to install it back
is it safer to remove the connector and attach the hose directly to the pipe with a clamp
update ... Reinstall hose back . Used the same connector . will keep an eye but looks like last time I replace it I didnt pushed all the way thru... Refill coolant (1.5 gl) .. No other damage .
Btw will take it to a hummer specialist rhis coming week to check the idle issue
will post
thx

Good to hear!! Yeah - forgot you had done all the top end stuff with the valley pan a while back. I know people have just used a hose clamp on the heater hoses to the nipple at the firewall with no problems instead of the stupid plastic connector.
I've used (and still have one even after installing my headers) the repair brackets you can buy that clamp the exhaust to the head. They are a bit fiddly to install but not too horrible. If you have any exhuast leaks from the broken bolts, short of totally removing the manifolds (or headers) and trying to extract the broken bolts the repair clamps do work great. There are two different ones, depending on whether its for a front bolt or a rear bolt and depending on which side of the engine
This is one of them
The other is on the same page - frequently bought together links...

Thanks for the info . I will look to get those exhaust clamps .. Would.like to replace the whole exhaust system but not for now
I spent too much already
I got really frustated when find out the coolant leak . Just put all new hoses few weeks ago and the last month truck has been cleaner than ever .
not a single oil or coolant drop
Next step . the exhaust and new led lights
