Default have 2006, advantage of 2008 version H3?

hi, new member here. I have been lurking around this forum for the pioneer avic-d3 information for about a week. Finally decided to register.

Anyway, I have decided to go with the pioneer avic-d3 for my hummer H3 2006.

Now a question for some experts here. The 2008 basic version is $28K and my 2006 got 15K miles and can be traded in for $22K. For $6K difference to get 5 year/100K miles warranty, I am really tempted. Any 2008 users share their opinion if 2008 is worth buy? I am kind of person that trust the first generation. I am afraid future generations might not be as good the first generation.

Sorry for asking questions right after registration.

The '08 incorporates:
* 3.7L engine vs 3.5L (needed power improvement)
* Ergonomic improvements on window controls
* Improvements to address some front suspension and engine issues of the '06's
* standard side curtain airbags

. . . and I'm probably leaving some out. [sm=helpout.gif]

Thanks Jim. Sounds like they are still using the same platform plus some improvement. Very tempted. It is time to shed some $6k to get a 2 year newer rig.

Don't forget the cost of tax and license...Here in CA that could add $3000

No. If I get a new one and choose to trade in my current one, I only pay tax on whatever the difference. In my case, I only pay tax on $6K. Registration is pretty cheap in RI.

I'd go for it for only $6K even if just for the engine and the warranty. 15,000 miles on an '06? I've got 21,000 and haven't quite hit my one year anniversary.

Hello moho. Welcome to the forums.

I think the 20 HP/TQ boost in engine plus the Warranty on a 2008 should be pretty tempting.

There is also child safety locks on the rear doors, and the gas/brake pedals where moved a little farther apart on the 08s.

Plus a host of minor details that no one really knows about -- little tweaks after seeing warranty repairs for several years.

Power boost and warranty would be enough for me.

Standard power seat I believe too...
