Default Happy holidays to all

happy holidays to all. Lots of good information on this site and I have lots of work ahead for 2021 on our 05 H2. Just ordered wheel hubs, drive shafts, brake dust shields, ball joints for lower and upper control arms plus other goodies. Also will be working on the steering components next as well as work on intake stuff and knock sensors. Just hit 418k. Will definitely look for some insight in the near future. Happy holidays from South Florida.

Merry Christmas, 418k is quite a milestone. Your rig really looks sharp.

Same to you. Driving a Hummer is more enjoyable with a white Christmas.

Wow 418K that's impressive. Sure doesn't look like it has that many miles.

thanks. This is our daily driver let's see how many more miles we can pack into it. Replacing most of the parts for safety reasons and it would be nice to have it around for many more years. You can feel it when driving but its a lot smoother as I upgrade the parts. its been very reliable.
Current mileage

Quick update, passenger side only: managed to get the upper and lower ball joints out and installed new ones, this was by far the hardest thing so far as far as work. Took a few hours but they popped out. Also took off the cv axle, wheel hub and the steering knuckle. As soon as I clean and paint the steering knuckle, new cv axle, new wheel hub, new brake dust shield is going in. Repeat on driver side around Tuesday as I'm still waiting for a few parts to come in.
That was a fun 3 day weekend working on the truck. Few pics.

before tear down

New tie rod

These gave me a good fight

Out with the old and in with the new. Removal was fairly easy.

Almost done cleaning the steering knuckle. Paint next. And reassemble time.

Assembly 95 percent complete on the passenger side. Just need to torque the cv axle nut and run the wire up to the connection point.

Nice work. I was looking at getting those Dmax tie rods when it’s time to replace mine. They’re huge. How are the Bilsteins? I’d like to get a set.

Either way its impressive and shows what solid maintenance can do but that pic shows 418,348 Miles, is it miles or kilometers?

and nice work, I like new parts

My next project is a gear change but the hurricanes and covid has really put a halt to things around here and it looks like it will be a while before I can get back to the H2.
