Default H3T Exhaust

Ok I have been looking for a after market exhaust for sometime with no luck. I finally went to an exhaust shop and asked what could they do for my H3T. They said the easiest thing would be just to cut the Muffle out leave the pipes and weld a Magna flow or anyone that i would like. They advised that the OEM pipes were 2 and 3/4 and they would on install a 3" pipe not much different. That if I did want the 3" pipes it would cost a perty penny. OK a 1/4" how much different would that make but I'm no expert. You guys have any idea's. Does this sound about right? Let me know and thanks!!!!!!!!

Try a different shop. I did the same thing and they were able to fit my muffler on my stock pipes with no problem. They make pipe size adapter sleeves for that problem. Sounds like they are trying to get your money at that shop for pipes you don't need. Shop around and you will find the right shop,,,,

Didn't get much for performance gains, but it sounds good now. I didn't Want it loud, just a little tone . I wanted duel exhaust but was limited cost wise at the time. Only had to drop about $140 for the muffler and install. If you want performance gains go with a cat back system, but be ready to drop around a grand to buy it and get it Installed. Ouch. Also stay away from the national chain muffler shops. Look for a good independent shop. They will give you a better deal and can make just about anything work to fit your truck. See ya,,,
