Come on Mu, that one was a little too personal. I left the rest of the thread.

OK? I'm a little confused. A HF member can call someone an "*******" and that's not personal ( I know I don't take it personal). But a HF member makes a comment about one of your friend’s website (that he has openly promoted and talks about on HF) and that is a little too personal. I get it; I would/do fight for my friends also. But I would do it in an open forum or AT LEAST inform the "offending" HF member that their post was censored/edited/removed due to some form of "Rule Violation", "Reported Post" or "Content Violation" etc and direct the "offending" HF member toward the section/area/place where said "rules" can be viewed. But once again, I guess that is just me. In plain English: If you (me in this case) F-up posting and something you (me in this case) posted get erased for breaking or bending a rule tell the person what they did wrong and site rule and not from behind the curtain like OZ and just pretend it didn't happen until it is brought up.

I just searched everywhere I can (not a mod or admin so I can't see that stuff) and I can't seem to find the HF rules of etiquette. If you would be so kind as to direct me toward this section of HF that would be greatly appreciated. So I know how and what I can post.

I did NOT send this as a PM to you because I believe that every HF member should know how to see the forum "rules" so we all know what can and cannot be posted and what the penalties are for said "rule" violations.

By the way there is a whole lot of information in the FAQ that should be edited and corrected on forum use and other sections due to the fact that they DO NOT pertain to the particular style of website and options currently being used.

Whew rant over, I'm sure this will be censored/edited/removed due to some form of "Rule Violation". But at least I got it off my chest.

From now until I can't take it anymore, I'll be all nicey-nice and super-duper PC with smileys and everthing!

I guess I could have given you a little vacation but thought the point would be made by deleting the post and letting the issue die.

Put it this way, if a mistake is made and it is just left to die, that mistake might be made again and again until the person/s who made the mistake are told they are making a mistake and they need to correct their actions. If I was a let’s say supervisor of building thingymagiggys and someone on the thingymagiggy line was installing a part improperly I would want to instruct the part installer what mistake they are making so they can correct said mistake and build the thingymagiggy properly by the rules of building thingymagiggys. If I didn't that would be my mistake for not informing my thingymagiggy part installer what the mistake is and I would have a lot of thingymagiggys out in the marketplace that might be unsafe.

Please, where are the "post and reply rules" or is it an arbitrary decision made by moderators? If it is arbitrary then so be it. No B.S. I really want to know the "rules" so there is no "crossing of the line" so to speak by myself and others.

You know that long drawn out multi paragraph statement that no one reads when they sign up on a forum, but agree to it anyway just to get on the forum.

Well thank God we don't make thingamagiggys here. You are a forum and Internet "professional" and know how to stay between the lines. This guy was an obvious newbie and mugged him right off the bat. That is like hunting armadillos...there is no sport in it. I don't enforce a lot of rules here, just don't kick anyone in the groin ( figuratively speaking) and no smilies so as not to offend your anti PC sensibilities (insert smilie here )
You have been here a longtime and not had a thread like this one. If you and the RC/Drummond crew want to play a little rougher between yourselves that is fine, you know each other, most of the rest of the membership don't want to play that way.
Just to provide some clarity I have requested that the rules of the forum be updated even though you never needed them before. ( insert another smilie here )

As the leader of the "RC crew" for a period dating back to this forum and long before the forum crash that lead to a new forum...

I am offended that I was brought into this discussion...

Is there a forum out there that Dave doesn't moderate so that I can post in peace and not have to deal with a "big I have more hummers than you so I'm god" type?

Perhaps the "RC and Drummond" crews play rough because we're not liberal yuppie scum? Perhaps our skin is thicker from having to work for a living, and learning how to blow off steam by busting *****? Perhaps we realize that this is the internet and none of these clowns would have the ***** to say anything to our faces...

Stan I guess you don't know me very well. I have worked pretty hard to get where I am in life. If my success bothers you then that is your problem. As for tough Internet talk, that is for chicken $hits. Nothing I say online that I wouldn't say to anyone's face, in fact I would say more in person.
I only moderate on two forums so there are quite a few to chose from where I am not a member. As to your being offended I thought this was the thick skinned Internet, maybe not.

I apologize for all the ill will this thread caused. ALL I wanted to say was that I like the dash booobies and wish MY H3t had them. Did not quite understand that it could be so inflammatory and still don't think it should have been whether my short sentence was accurate to the details or not. I still think it was silly to get jumped on like that. As a Marine and someone who fights for a living I don't bite my tongue well enough when attacked so but I can apologize for calling the dude an A-hole on here publicly..So Mr. Tainter I am sorry that I called you that name...On another note...

whoever that was that cited the round air vents (ANYWHERE in the HMMVV) thanks for that haha..saved me a lot of research. Frankly, I was an active Marine when the "original" Hummers rolled into service but was an 03 and we walked everywhere. I have spent the last 8 years in Iraq and Afghanistan in personal protection and spend more than my fair share shooting and getting **** at while trying not to get thrown in prison by politicians in our OWN country.

Additionally.. please don't bother attacking my spelling. I have just enough apathy on here to care less whether there are typos or not. I DO enjoy this board and sharing the happiness of owning this truck. I LOVE it and all that goes with it and there being so few of them on the road...so PEACE ( and I dont ask for that very often since it is bad for my bank account :-)

Let's move on as this has led to others badmouthing others and that is silly.

For the record - the dash boobies design was taken from the Pontiac Aztek:
