Default H3A Electrical issues

Need some help. Anyone had this one? Driving home yesterday I got a Traction Stab Failure, service! at the same time my fuel guage dropped to below empty, then a low fuel warning message!!!! I felt no issues with the vehicle at all, well I was coming up to a red light so I put it in park and turned the ignition off (thinking this would clear the problem) WRONG! When I tried to re-start NOTHING! Finally after trying to lock and unlock the doors with the remote entry FOB it reset, and started fine. I've also noticed the lights will go off every once in a while while driving with them in AUTO mode, with no lighting change, ie. still dark outside. Any suggestions?

All those functions probably involve one of the computer modules. You might try the remedy of disconnecting the battery leads and shorting them together. NOTE: shorting the two leads that you have taken off the battery NOT shorting the battery terminals - that would be bad, very very bad. If in any doubt skip this step entirely and pretend I never mentioned it.

Failing that, I'd take it to the dealer and have them check the computer modules. Should be under warranty for an 09. Since it's intermittent, you may well have to leave it with them for a few days & be patient. It's really hard to fix the problems if they can't make them happen.

I've heard several people have the same kind of issues which all seemed to be related to some kind of power issue, either loose battery terminal, bad battery or alternator, for some reason the BCM goes crazy if it doesn't the right power supply . do what bflank sugguested also have your battery tested & your alternator checked.

Default ditto on JGBB04's post

brief but important!!

a batt is like a giant capacitor that filters, stops noise that is the enemy of computers. loose conn there could let noise develope. a weak batt is like a bad cap.

JGBB04's info is good first step troubleshooting stuff.
