Check the service records, the early H3's have head problems, radiator cracking problems, and some other things that escape me. Search around on the forum for problems people having been having with their 06's, that about the best advice I can give you.

Tom is right, don't buy it if it's not what you're looking for. It took me two months of constant searching before I found exactly what I wanted and the truck ended up being on the other side of the state.

Like I said get the service history from carfax or something, and look for any newer looking parts under the hood or in the wheel wells.

What kind of tires he has on it will tell you a lot about how its been treated too, if it's been on the road mostly or has been wheeled.

Love my 06 but now wished I had waited and bought an 07. 07 has slightly bigger engine, no paranoia of head problems (which Im suspecting I have) and lower mileage! My H3 has a slew of problems, but for me thats Ok cause I just wanted something that I could work on my self and the H3 is a simple build!!!!! Parts are "overpriced" but thank god for ebay!

Carefax is a total joke, the biggest thing to look for is if its had the cylinder head replaced. I am guessing if it has 89k and it runs well with no check on engine light due to cylinder missfires it may have been done. The dealer told me that ALL 06 I5 engines will take a head, maybe not today-maybe not tomorrow but its coming. If its in your price range and it meets your requirments go for it, adding chrome or black is cheap like most parts check craigslist.
