I thought we had to replace the whole control arm to replace the uppers ????

Sad but true yes but there have been few that removed the ball joint and pressed in a new one. I don't know for sure the ball joint that is needed but if you have a little know how and a buddy with a press it shouldn't be hard to do.

 

For right now we do have to replace the entire arm.

there where several people working on a solution with new arms and replaceable ball joints. From what I know now there is only 1 still working on a solution. The prototype arms are currently being tested...

 

I have access to a press good for up to 11 ton, but replacement would be best. I think I saw something about those prototype ones Tainter. The company I cant recall but they were tube type if I remember right? They would be nice but price would be triple the OEM when done I assume for a while.
Just curious I guess. I tried to find HD lower ball joints but couldn't find anything. The roads here roasted my pass side lower one in just over a year. Mevotech, and wouldn't take grease for a month or so. I took zeros off and cleaned'm up so they worked. When I installed and greased the grease squirted out the inside towards hub. Boot is either ripped or gapped some.
