Unhappy H3 questions and help.

Hello I am new to this forum, and hummers in general. I now have a 2006 H3 lux. My wife went shopping one day and came home with it. She had a mini van when she left the house. anyway on to problems that I might be able to get some help with.

#1 The H3 is setting on Mickeys Lt325-65R18's It rubs and howls. Should we go back to a stock size tire and wheel?

#2 The sales lady told my wife that it should get around 18-20 MPG. It is having a good day if it gets 11 on the hwy. So any help or tips on that would be great.

#3 This suv dosen't seem to have any power at all. What does a guy have to do to get some zip out of this thing. I am not talking Porche but would at least like Pinto.

#4 Also the black plastic up the windshield and over the roof is ratteling and humming. When I called the dealership they said they all hum thats where they get their name.

Hey let me thank you for your time and understanding on this one , any help would be great. thanks Wes

It is likely that stock tires will improve your fuel mileage. Sounds like this vehicle has been heavily modified. Removing roof racks, brush guard or anything else that adds weight and wind resistance will help. Do a search on this forum to answer your questions on getting more zip and the well known wind noise issue. There are fixes for both. I have searched this forum from it's first posts in 2005 and check it daily. I don't think there is a question that you can ask that has not been discussed on this forum at one time or another. It has been a tremendous help to me. Great vehicles and I hope you enjoy it as much as I have both of mine.

wow to #4.... id call that dealership back and give them a piece of my mind. the sales lady told absolute bullcrap. you will never see 20mpg. 16 is your number.

yes go back to original size stock wheels n tyres if it came with it.

this is an amazing car, sucks about the bad start to hummers, but once you get going you will love it! and also make sure you go shopping for hummers next time and not your wife so they dont unload on you .

Default stock 07 h3 mileage

17.2 is my number, in town , 10-20 mile trips at40 to 50.
i hit 18.2-once on some hwy, some town driving,
on turnpike it drops at 70-90

bottom line , never under 16.5 which is fine with me for a fun machine, fun ride and a forever attention getter and conversation piece--people are fascinated with this vehicle.

ivi never had so many questions about ANYvehicle i owned,,,AND i think my x wives and girlfriends are crying,,,boo hoo,,at 67 im diggin it.

now where can i go today, there must be sumething i need at that store 49 miles from here!!

i think ill wash it first
tom
