Default H3 Price Prediction - Future?

Anyone have their crystal ball shined up?....I have a decision on my current H3 2008 lease buyout soon of about 26-27K or buy a new 2010 depending on the rebates etc which probably will be about 38K (if some decent discounts come out which I beleive there will be and hopefully with GM discount also). Both prices without 6% tax. Just wondering if a new 5 or 6 speed comes out in the next year or two or if gas prices creep up to 4 bucks, will a new H3 price drop like a rock or stay as they are typically now in the low 30's for 1 year and mid to high 20's for a few years old?

I can't remember back then, when the gas hit 4 bucks did the new (and used) H3 values drop significantly? I know thwe new purchases dropped heavy. Anyone concerned? I just love this vehicle and always want to have one!

It's anyones guess I know....

New car prices didn't drop - since pricing isn't as fluid as the used car market. For a few months, the used car market in general for SUVs dropped including HUMMERs. But, after those few months they skyrocketed once everyone figured out, "wait, I still want an SUV."

I'd do some checking with your local/internet used car sources. I'm going to bet that you can do a lot better for an 08 H3 than your lease buyout. Of course with your 08, you do know what you're getting and how it's been treated.

Not sure what options you have but our local dealer is selling new 09 models for 28,800 after the current rebates.

As far as next year's pricing, it is out and I believe the Alpha dropped a few hundred bucks. The bigger question is will the rebates stay in place. My guess is that they will have to, at least for now, but who knows with the new owners.
