since i'm pretty much partial to the whole foreign-US debate (while i'd like to buy American [and i clearly just did, with the H3], i'll buy whatever i feel to be the best deal and best-made), i'll say that the thing i find kind of amusing is that the same people who claim that the term "Jap crap" (or whatever other phrase - it doesn't really matter which) isn't offensive are the same ones who get offended by people who say "American cars are crap." take a step back and realize you're both doing the same thing.

i agree; i like to support the US whenever possible also. if it comes down to accepting an inferior product, i won't do it, however. that being said, i think US car manufacturers are definitely heading in the right direction as of recent years, for the most part. there is still some catching up to do, but i was more than happy (and proud) to buy a US-branded car that i feel is solid.

I am no fan of the UAW, but notall UAW workers areloafers, but the bad apples do spoil the bunch. That's another story, they have been busy pricing their labor out of the market for years. Competition is what our market has always been based upon, but how about a level playing field???
