Default H3 no chrome...

I was bored today so I decided to get rid of my chrome. I couldn't afford the really tough professional lining so I used spray on bedliner - it came out pretty good. I did my skid plate and my gas cover as well..

No guard...

All finish!

Looks awesome inked. Nice work. [sm=smiley32.gif]

Educate me...what did you do to prep the chrome? Where can one buy spray-on bedliner and is one brand better than another?

I'd like to do that to a fuel door too but I wasn't sure it would adhere.

i painted my chrome fuel door but it was a tough process. I sand blasted it...took a while since chrome is very hard. then i painted it black with a "hammered" finish. I think it came out nice. Matches the black plastic.

Thanks dooks. Sounds great. Matching the plastic would be something I'd like for sure.

I'm not equipped for stripping the chrome so I guess I'll just have to find a black one that I like. I'm leaving Texas soon for California and I don't want to give any tree hugging Hummer hater a chance to mess with my fuel.

a locking gas cap would be ideal.

Did you use the same paint on your front side marker light protectors? I've been looking for a black version of those.

I love the grille! I have a used chrome one coming in this week and plan to do the same to it.

What brand did you use? how did you prep the plastic / remove the chrome? my thought is scuff it with 250 grit sandpaper, prime it, do a wet/final sand, then hit it with the bedliner. Any advice would be much appreciated!

Yeah all I did was use my electric sander and sanded the heck out of it - it was 180 I used. However with all the wheeling I do I will eventuallytake it in to get it professionally done but for now it works

As for the brand of bedliner, I got it from NAPA, I believe it's the only brand they carry.
