Default H3 Navigation

I installed a factory navigation system recently in my H3, it works great, but with the volume adjusted all the way up, you can hardly hear the turn by turn instructions. also since I Installed the unit the Onstar volume is low also. I have read the manuals and cannot find out how to adjust it louder. The dealer could not figure it out either. Has anyone else had this problem?

Does your H3 have the factory monsoon system? There is a spot in the setup of the nav that lets you choose the turn by turn volume.

No it doesn't, I'm not sure ifI've done something wrong when installing it or not. The Dealer set it up for me after I installed it and it works great other than the volume. Do you know if it matters that this unit is out of a 2007 H3 and my H3 is a 2006? the connections were all the same. I guess I'll have to take it back to the dealer....

I think there is an issue installing it in a non-Monsoon vehicle, but I have no idea what it is. Try the search function since I think I may have seen something like this before on here. The onstar and turn-by-turn directions come out of the same speaker, so if you fix one, you'll fix both.

Probably of no help but on my CTS I added the OEM NAV with a Bose system and volume was not a problem.

I think somewhere behind theunit there is an adjustment...but I could be wrong.

If I recall correctly, a Monsoon system is required to have the factory nav. If you build an H3 online, it automatically adds a monsoon system if you add the nav. I never knew why but now it makes sense why you would need an external amp with volume controls. You might have to go out and get an amp from best buy.

I agree - needs an amp. There isn't a control as I stated earlier.
