Default H3 Level Kit worth it?

I have a 2007 H3. I'm told it requires a 2.25" front end lift to make it level. Does the kit make the front end ride bad? Any downsides to getting this done? Any comments?? Thanks.

This should be good.

Who has the popcorn?

Short answer, no.

First question Warmongur, Who told you that you need a "front end lift kit"?

Does the shop/person that told you that sell said "front end lift kit"?

Do yourself a favor and save some bucks by searching for "t-bar adjust".

You will need a 1 1/16" or a 27mm socket and a large bar.

An alignment and probably some new shocks and jounce stops will also be required.

All of the required info is available on line.

If you feel especially grateful, you can send me $200.

Cheers, Doug

Default hmmmmm

Well, required as in ... to make the front level with rear, its needed. Its a readylift torsion key that raises the front up so that I can put 35" tires all around. The kit installed is only $300 ... sounds worthy to me, even the hummer dealer reccomends it. Just seeing if anyone here had gotten one.

I don't think that warmongur wants to hear that. He is still in denial that the dealer is the only source of information regarding Hummers.

If he really wants to spend his money on a lift kit, keys etc... then we should let him. Free country.

Why would it take 20 minutes? Does that include going to 7-11 to get beer?

I will give it a shot your way. I know the shops are trying to sell, thats why I came here for some helpful advice. Is the bolt I need to adjust at the end of the bar about under the rear seats, facing down to the ground?

Yes, and it helps to have the front end jacked up. The torsion keys or turning the the T bar bolts to adjust the front end achieve basically the same thing. Most people that adjust the t-bar add the Bilstein shocks and bump stops. Using the keys allows you to use the OEM shocks. If you raise the front end too much you will get a wandering feel to your steering. I have 35" Kevlar MTR's on my H3. I have the front end leveled to 22.5". I get a little rub on the sway bar at full lock but not too bad. If you do either I recommend a front end alignment. Let us know how it turns out.
warmonger, I am in Newport Beach, CA, where in SoCal are you?

I was planning on sticking with the stock shocks. So sounds like either way I go I'm spending a few hundered. I was told that spinning up the T-bars adds stress to the front end. Who knows .... I wonder how the Offroad Suspension version H3 are setup out of factory? Do they simply spin up the T-bars to make them level?

Anyways, I live in Ladera Ranch .... and looking for somewhere to offroad. Trying to find the route up saddleback now. Hit the fire roads at big bear last weekend.
