hey guys so im not engine inclined outside of the basic tune up, but im wanting a much bigger engine in my 3. ive heard of the jeepeater H3 w/ a LS6 that makes a mess of jeeps w/ hemis... what engine is the best fit for my 2008 H3? im looking for ball park price for the engine, will it fit the trans. what would the power be compared to the inline 5, the full run down please!!! thanks in advance guys

Waste of time, $ and effort. Been plenty of dreamer threads before yours, use the search feature. The factory already put an LH8 in the 08 & 09, and an LH9 in the 2010s. You sell your H3 with I5, and buy an H3 Alpha, mod that.

No an LS6 is not a swap in project, H3s have a front drive line.

If $$ and brains were no object, you would do a 6.0L swap, why waste time with a 5.3L?

Forgot to add, H3s already make a mess of Jeep GCs with Hemis, just as soon as they leave the pavement. Honestly, Hemi GCs are not that quick or nimble either.

 

Thanks for your input! I was expecting a response saying trade for an alpha. So ls engines won't fit h3s? I've seen threads on other sites claiming ls6 engines in their 3s. If trading or selling wasn't an option what would the alpha engine run in price?

 

The LH8 and LH9 ARE LS engines. All aluminum right down to the block.

There is so much involved with the V8 swap that companies who do H3 V8 swaps for a living charge over $15,000 for the basic swap!
