Question H3 Hood Vent Replacement

Hey folks, Knightblade again.

Just thought I'd give a quick question to any of my HF fellow compadre's that are on the Canadian side of the border. I recently took my 07 H3 through a touchless car wash and on my way through the dryer stage, I noticed that the hood vent-louver thing was really flapping on the drivers side rear corner. I go and take a look and one of the clips has broken off. I take it to my local GM dealer as I remember reading there was a recall on it for the louver, only to find out that the work had been already done by the previous owner in 2012. So...I'm stuck with it.

Now my question to my Canadian brethren or anyone that can find me a decent Canadian price or easy fix (aside from silicone the thing to the hood) is, is there a way to remove the louver without damaging it and if so, is there a place to get a cheaper one than 500 dollars, which is what the dealer's auto body shop wanted for a new one from GM. That's -just- the part btw, not even with installation.

Its not the chrome one nor does it have handles. Its the simple black/grey trim piece louver, that's what I want to replace it with if I can't repair it easily with some epoxy resin if I can remove it.

Any instruction or help would be awesome.

Thanks!

I'd try some acid free silicone and that's it . It's a non moving part anyway .

You can buy them on ebay for under $150 if you decide not to glue it and start over.

Same thing happened to me; I saw the left rear corner popping up under the pressure of the "dryer". I simply pulled it up a bit and put a heavy bead of silicone under that corner. Hasn't budged since. The "recall" fix was just that; silicone.
