The 2008 H3 and Alpha H3 both have the same panel air filter, GM part # 15942429

I find it nearly amazing that daelers don't stock the OEM part, and NO aftermarket filter makers have them available yet?

2008 H3 people, email your favoraite performance air filter makers and tell them you are WAITING! Get r done.

I called K&N last night and it is 10 minutes of my life I will never get back. Got the"tech" number and a woman answers with a "what do you want"? Not the best way to start off, but I thought I'd try...I ask if there is any CAI or filter aval for the ALPHA yet. "hold on"............."wrench oil filter" I tell her I'm looking intake wise......"ummm, what size is it"?? WHAT...I tell her 5.3L, maybe she was talking about me who knows!?!

Long story short, I asked if any of the other GM 5.3L parts would cross refrence or fit, and said I was even willing to try one out. K&N: "We don't have that kinda information here"???

In light of this, I won't be supporting K&N anymore

I can do a CAI for the 2008 H3 and Alpha no problem. I do not make filters. Rattle the cage of filter makers, as soon as one is out, you'll be able to get the full kit.

GunnyRet: The rear axle is Mfg by Detroit Axle, it is a 10 bolt GM 8.5" gear.

Front pumpkin (different axle configuration obviously),has aGM 9.25" gear, so that should be a 12 bolt. Damn, the last time I did an oil change
I checked that out, wrote it down so I wouldn't forget, and lost the paper I wrote it on. I'll go with 12 bolt, butCRS.

When I was changing my Diff fluid last week, The front diff housing looked much smaller than rear pumpkin. Didn't count # of bolts, but it was smaller than the rear. They both held about the same amount of fluid though. I just remember being suprised when I got underneath there that the front axle housing was so much more puny looking than the rear.

Front and rear axles are both AAM (American Axle & Manufacturing) 760s (10 bolt).

Hey, I found it, 10 bolt not 12. [&o] Must be 8.5 gear also. I have lit at one place says 8.0" gear, another says 9.25" WTH??? It is 8.5" same as the rear.

In town here, Steve#uno.....my pinky raised, we still call it Detroit Axle, even thiugh Americal Axle bout the old Hamtramk/Detroit property and built their headquarters right up next to the Detroit Gear and Axle plants.
Still says Detroit Axle on the old plant, and also refers to those axles from American that are put in GM vehicles. A term of art.
Wouldn't want GM buyers to contemplate their axles came fron Chrysler, would we?

I did this for all of us on here, Thanks, on the Alpha Filter, if you measure it you can go to S&B Filters plug in the measuremens and if it doesn't cross over to one of there stoked sizes they can make you one. It don't cost that much extra.
