Just curious what kind of gasmileage everyone is getting with their H3s. I bought a 2008 H3 in September and am only getting about 15-16 mpg and do most of my driving on the highway. I know it can take a while to get "broken in" but I was expecting more like 18-19 mpg. Thanks!

 

I got my '08 H3 in September. I'm doing a pretty consistent 18-ish around the 'burbs - a bit less since the cold set in. Other than a couple of expressway trips into the city, I really haven't had it on the road yet, so I can't comment on highway mileage. I've got the 5-speed and, while far from a hypermiler, I'm constantly using some of the tricks I've learned over the years - coasting to red lights and on downgrades, etc. A ScanGauge displaying instantaneous MPG helps quite a bit. With it, you get instant feedback for each tweak in your tecnique.

 

I drive mostly highway with only a little city, somewhere around 80/20. Like you I got around 16 mpg when I first got my H3. After the break in period, about 500 miles or so, I averaged about 18 or 19. I did take a trip to Tennessee and averaged between 19 and 20 while on I-81. I also have the 5 speed, so your mileage may be less if you have the 4L60-E slushbox. Oh GM, why don't you see fit to install the 6L50 into the H3?

 

I just got back from taking a trip from central Mass to Canada, 270 miles each way and I used just over 3/4 of a tankof gas each way. I figured it to be justaround 18. Now I am also running 35's and a CAI kit. Cruise control was set at 70 for the most part driving pretty conservative.

I get 18.5, does not really matter city of Hwy. I never go faster than 75.

17-20 Highway - depending on how fast I drive. Stock air filter? K&N should help.

 

im gettin 19-20(21k on the meter) with k&n dropin, magnaflo cat back exhaust and not drivin over 65-70, it helps to that its a Manuel

 

me i get 14.5 foot in it to 18mph

 

My 2007 H3 3.7 5 spd manual has a Jet II Stage II performance module, cat back flowmaster, RAID filter, 180 degree thermostat. It gets MUCH better power throttle response and power than before the modifications. I average 21 MPG on the highway with 32 lbs tire pressure at 70 mph
