Does your Billy Boat exhaust drone ( resonate )? Which BB Catback is yours? Pics?

Is Magnaflow the best catback for the H3?

I want a more free flowing system with a deeper, more throaty sound without any drone.

Thanks

My Billy Boat is the following Hummer H3 Exhaust Applications from Billy Boat Performance Exhaust

The Product is very good. Inside the vehicle the comfort is perfect. Outside the sound is good but not so strong. I would like actually a deep tone. A guy suggested to remove the resonate (kind of oval thing see pic) and after removing it I will get a deep tone. He said that without the resonate the results is: it is loud as hell. So I will try it.

yeah i chopped mine off and replaced it with pipe. no issues with bad smell. FYI cutting it off made absolutely no difference in tone on the V8. The muffler change made the difference. the resonator is a straight pipe in the inside with a double wall, no baffles, no insulation, the exhaust just freely goes right through it.

it's prob because of having the i5. there's only so much you can do to get good sound out of it.

Di you mean the resonator? In fact I do not see any O2 sensor around the resonator. The O2 is around the catalytic converter, right?

I just cut the resonator out and replaced it with a straight pipe. The sounds is better. Its a deep sound.

After removing the resonator, did you smell anything using the vehicle (gasoline smell, etc.)?

Default I did this

Not louder and no smell w/o the resonator. Ended up putting cat back on.

Hey I got a resonator delete on my 2009 H3 3.7L, the straight pipe that the exhaust guy put on looks smaller in diameter?...maybe 2" instead of 2.5"

Does it matter?

Really approximate it.
