Has anyone taken the resonator off the h3? if so did you lose any power? gain any? also will it mess with the computer or throw any codes? Thanks in advance

I took it off quite a while back, you won't notice any difference in anything whatsoever, not even the sound. I did get a flowmaster camaro style dual outlet muffler put on a few weeks ago and it sounds badass. I can upload a video to youtube for the sound if anyone is interested.

I removed mine when I did the cold air intake mod. mild gains in HP, very small change in sound. Happy that I did.... looks much cleaner.

I'm interested!
So you have the resonator removed and only the muffler of the flowmaster?
Original the flowmaster exhaust system has still a resonator.......that's why I was thinking about another brand...without resonator but quite more expensive.
Ok...let's hear your set up..please!

yeah all the piping is still stock, just cut the resonator out and replaced it with a straight pipe, and changed the stock muffler to a flowmaster. i spray painted the muffler with flat black and made the muffler guy do some stock looking tips so u can't really tell there's anything non-stock under there....except for the sound i'll see if i can get a video uploaded today.

I would also like to know the specs for flowmaster muffler...ie., fitment for an H3...
I was told the 50 series is best...but even here there a several choices...I have not gone under the truck...to much snow right now in Canada

Here are a few vids I shot to get an idea of how it sounds, hook up a subwoofer to your comp to hear how deep it sounds. Keep in mind this is the 5.3L.
