Well, I can't really say about the bugs, it's been too cold for them since I've had it. However, this morning following a snow plow dropping salt (or rocks is more like it) It cracked my license plate cover and could see the crap flying everywhere, BUT nothing hit my windshield. Is it luck or the deflector? I don't knowMaybe both
