Default H3 on board air?

Has anyone done a York Pump install on the H3? I have a 2007 with the inline 5cyl 3.7l and would like to have on board air powerful enough for air tools. The 12 volt compressors can't produce enough air to inflate 33" tires at an acceptable rate so I know they will not be an option. I saw a different thread where someone did it on an H2 but doesn't help much with the mount location.

theres been a lot of talk here about heavy duty 12v compressors. you might find it by searching.
one guy mounted it underneath by the rear cat.

The problem with the 12 volt is the CFM. They aren't pushing enough for air tools and take forever to fill 33"+ tires. I want the Ultra-convenience of having impact tools on the trail without lugging around a gas powered compressor.

How a bout a good 1/2" cordless impact, extra battery and a charger that will plug into 12 VDC or a 500 watt inverter its enough to operate the charger. your not limited to the length of an air hose if you need to help someone else out. Use it anywhere.
I use one at the race track for changing tires and can do 16 -20 5 lug tire changes on a battery. The wheels are torqued to 80 -90 ft lbs and it removes the lug nuts with out problems.
By the time you buy a compressor and a air tank, mount it and the air tools and hose you have to carry, it may be something to give some thought to.

We also use a small nitrogen tank with a regulator and gauges, fills tires fast. we purge the air out and fill all four at a time, small tank lasts a long time.

Check oasismfg.com they have 12v compressors capable of running air tools direct from compressor as well as supplying enough air to fill your tires.

The Oasis is a York pump connected to a winch motor. Way overpriced and still requires electrical connections. They tend to run very hot and is a huge load on the battery. I am already running a winch and lights. To have it driven by the motor with electrical ac clutch, reserve tank, pressure switch, hard lines, dry filter, gauges and quick connects in the vehicle, controlled from the driver seat. That is what I'm talking about.

You're looking for a vmac style compressor. Those are not cheap either and I don't believe there is a mounting kit for a 3.7L. There are mounting kits for the 5.3, 6.0 and 6.6 diesel. You're probably looking at a custom mount and a big investment if you want on board air.

My onboard air - a PowerTank.
Can run air tools for the trail emergency or air up about 30 times on a tankful (about $12.00 to refill with Co2).
