Default H3 Alpha Proablem

Hi.My 08 H3 Alpha has a proablem. In regular all wheel drive when I hit the gas today on my snow covered street,I heard a loudgrinding sound comming from the front end, sounds like the drivers side front.Normal driving there is no weird sound, only on snow when the front end grabs. Also I noticed on my driveway when you look at the front end, thefront drivers side looks to be down one inch compared to the passenger side.I took it to a buddy at midas and he mesured both sides, and the drivers side front end is 31 and a quarter inches from the lip under the fender,to the botton of theoutside of the rim.The passenger side is 32 and a eighth, taking the same measurement. My buddy said mabey the torquesion bar is out of wack on the drivers side. The grinding part only happened when I went home on the snow, when I tramped it.Anyone have any ideas before I take her to the dealer,on what might be wrong with twothings I mentioned.Thanks...

You are hearing the Traction Control limiting wheel spin. Drive down the snow covered street at say 20MPH and tramp the brake pedal, you will get almost exactly the same sound. Traction control uses the anti lock brakeing system to apply brake to any wheel it senses spin. Better yet, turn off the traction control and tramp the throttle, you get spin, no sound.

Your truck has the GM lean. Most do. Adjust the Torsion bar(s), takes a 1 and 1/16th inch socket to turn the bolt. Check out:Torsion lift - Pics and How To

You do not have to lift the lift your truck, but you should level it accross the front from left to right. The dealership should do that for you as warranty work if you would rather have them do it and check the alighnment after.

Wow, I thought I was the only one. I would always notice that when looking at my truck from the rear. My first thought was that it was hit from the rear bumper or something.
