my guess is that it'll cost way more than it's worth
Me thinks the same thing..that's why end-o-year sales are more realistic.

For the sake of all who want an Alpha. I hope you're all correct. My thinking is they would be 50K+. GM has no problem getting that(sticker) for a Yukon or a Tahoe. Since a Alpha is already at the price level of a H3X,with leather and other goodies which could go for 43K+, and a V8 drive train and ad $$$$$$$.
I hope I'm wrong[sm=smiley18.gif]. I'll take a H3 Alpha over a $ 50,000 Yukon or Tahoe any day.

why spend $50,000 on an h3 when you can get an h2 for the same or slightly more? Tahoe + yukon have WAY more creature comforts than the h3 does...thats why they are high in price. The two cannot be compared as they are completely different vehicles. The h3 was made to compete with the wrangler and now the FJ...plain and simple. With a $50,000 or even a $45,000 price tag it will lose badly.

So are you thinking that it may run along the same price range as the H3X? My dealer was talking in the 45-46K range, admittingly without a lot of information. Perhaps the thought is that people will pay the higher costfor the Alpha even though it is getting closer in cost to the H2 due to the smaller size and manuverability of H3-with the power of the V-8?

If you look at MSRP on an '07 and compare to what the Alpha will have standard, you're looking at:

H3+Lux Package - $33,225
Automatic- $1,695
Chrome Package - $400
Curtain Airbags - $495
XM - $325

That's around $36,200

Probably modest price increase for '08 (The difference from '06 to '07 was only $495 more for the base)

Maybe an extra $3,500 for the engine and other stuff?

I have no idea, really, but I'd think you'd be able to get an Alpha with nothing else in it for just under $40.

But, once I throw in Navigation, sunroof, roof cross-rails, nerf bars, I guess $45 to $50 is possible. Yikes. That's gonna be a hard sell on the wifey...

Called dealer today for a service appointment of my H3 and talked to my salesman. Price is looking at around 42,000.00 Alpha Adventure to 45,000.00 for the Alpha LOADED. He told me that I couldn't hold him to that, I will post the price once he calls me on the 17th.

Whats everybodys take on the deal, will it be worth the $45,000. LOVE to have H2, but this is the wifes ride and she is nervous about driving the bigger H2. I want the H2 SUT.

THANKS
