Default RE: H3 2007 replacing head unit problems

To ImportKiller:

Just to make sure - here is the way I used the C2R-GM24 harness:

www.pac-audio.com/instructions/c2r-gm24.pdf

I Used the first option of cutting the RCA plugs since my head unit Does not have low level audio out.

So ,
I think I need to use a 2 units of PAC SNI-35 (which looks like a rca to line level adapter) and attach 4 new RCA heads to the existing C2R-GM24harness.

It sound like this will work or I'mjust dreaming?

Many thanks again for your help
(Sorry, I don't know why the fonts in this message have turned into green)

sorry bro....don't know why I missed that you are using the right harness adapter after all....my bad. If you want to try a line level adapter try a scoshe(sp?) I don't know where you are located but they sell them in local wal-marts for like $25...if it doesn't fix your problem just bring it back for a refund I would try to do the purple wire thing from that bulletin I sent you....that may be all you need to do.

ok, if you have the sub in the rear cargo area then you have the monsoon system....you will need to follow the bottom set of instructions in that link you posted...the set of instructions for bose systems, because you are still using the monsoon amp and sub. Thats the problem, you followed the non bose set of instructions that said to cut the rca's, the bose instructions say that you will need a LOC...or Line output Converter...as we talked about earlier. Just so you know, you will probably need to adjust the LOC's gain... so if you have static or hiss at first, don't give up...adjusting the gain is very important...as the instruction you posted say...you need to get 2-4 volts from your rca's...so just keep playing around with it.

metra is good also...there are alot of different brands that are good. Shops have been argueing about what ones are better for years now...IMO they all get the job done.

To importkiller,
Thanks for your help. I'm now sure I have to order the PAC SNI-35.

I'm locaed in Israel, so Radishack is not an option, So is wall mart. The best you can buy here in Best-Buy is a poor quality TV set.

I've ordered the PAC SNI-35 (as explained in the PDF of the C2r-GM24, and It should arrive within 1 week.

I have only one more question:

After installing the PAC SNI35 (When I'll get it in one week I hope)Do you think I will still need to do the Purple wire thing you sent me?

Right now everything seems to be working fine (I think) except for the static and loud volume level I have (which shoukd be solved with the part I Ordered).

Again Many Many thanks for your efforts and help

hook everything else up first and see if you solved your problem......if not then do the wiring like I sent you. You may not need to do it at all, as you mentioned that you don't have onstar, they are probably just be to get onstar and the door chimes to work properly.

I will look into it for you but I don't think so. I believe it's a completely different radio.
