Have 2003 H2 Trans gauge ie acting funny.Sometimes 210 then pegs all the way over.Let sit all night and still peg all the the way over.How can I tell if this is a gauge or else

 

Given the age of these things my guess would be the stepper motor is going bad. Either that or the temp sensor but it would be much easier to replace the stepper motor first.

I'm sure it's the stepper motor, My oil pressure has said 80 for the longest time now. Even when I turn the key two clicks, just power, it still says 80. There are guys on craigslist that will fix gm gauges, some will even change the lighting to led for you.
