When I went to my Hummer dealer to get the plug the parts department could not figure out what plug I needed. None of their manuals could tell them. Either that, or they did not know how to look it up. Their solution was to go ask one of the mechanics, who happened to have the right plug stuffed away in his tool box. It was my lucky day. Plus, they gave it to me no charge.

Good luck in your quest. If you get really stumped let me know and I will pull mine out and see if there is a part number on it somewhere.

After days of searching I think I finally found it by looking for silverado tail light junction harness. I came across a page listing GM part number 15306115. This looks to be the correct fitting.

I was able to rig up mine using kk standard crimp connectors. They go down into the hole just fine but mine aren't the right depth so I had to compress the latch, right now the only thing holding them in place is the rear cover but the connection seems fine for now. It was a 2 dollar fix from the local fry's and will get me by for the time being.

OK. I have a question. I have the factory light harness that goes with the OEM GM factory rear tire carrier center cover plate . It has a two wire plug on the end all ready. Now, i need to know if there is a plug in for this on my 04? I know the rear tire carrier was a option after 04 models.

Just installed my spare tire carrier. The carrier itself was a Piece of cake, the lamp however did give me a headache. I followed the pic in this thread and had to do a little testing with a multimeter. My plug had the hot wire on the top right and the ground on the bottom left if your looking at that picture. also the plug was already installed but there were no connectors in it. I went to Pep boys (ugh) and bought a box of gm female 280 pin connectors, (5 in a box). I then proceded to mangle all of them trying to get them inserted into the plug itself.

Have to go to the gm dealer tomorrow and see if there is a difference between these and the o.e. connectors.

Default Gonna try to do it the right way this time...

Just got my H2 back from the bodyshop and installed my tire carrier (made it myself several years ago). Had to cut the wire 'cuz it went through a hole/grommet in the bumper (which was replaced). Figured that I might as well get the right parts and connectorize it. Probally should put bullit conns on it or a connector in the bumper.
I'll use the $ the insurance co. allowed for the removal/reinstallation of tire carrier (I did it myself, due to reasons above) to buy the connector parts.
Should do the same for back-up cam.

If you need a tag light, just PM me. We buy THOUSANDS of the things and I can get them for basically nothing.
My light was burnt out on the relocated tag when I bought mine. I talked the dealership into knocking another $50 off instead of fixing or replacing it. I think it cost me somewhere in the neighborhood of $3 to snag one from work.

O.K. finally got the right pins that fit insided the oem plug that was already in place on my 03'. the mechanic at the dealership just gave em to me also.

they are a little different than the ones I had initially purchased at Pep boys so the cliped right in after soldering the wires into them.

Problem solved.
