H2 Roof Cargo Rack Recommendations
Hi all-
I am wondering if someone can suggest a configuration for a roof top cargo carrying system. I like the Rola price, but the rails that they mount on(as I understand it) cost as much as the basket. I am looking for about 150-250 pounds of weight capacity, and if they exist, connectors that go into my slots without the need for rails. What would you buy? If you want to use your expertise to window shop for me and send me a list, I would be most appreciative. I don't want to reinvent the wheel by researching all this for 2 weeks if possible. I want to try to keep it withing a $500.00 budget if possible, but buying crap is a bad move as well. It's really only going to be used for firewood, ice chests etc..
Thanks!

Obviously the best would be GOBI for a roof rack. Extremely high quality, well built, pre-wired for rear lights and many other options. Now this is far above the $500 price tag you mentioned but if you want high quality it will cost you.
Here's a pic of my GOBI stealth rack.

Wow an old pic at that. Before my brushguard, all the lights on the rack and other goodies.

yeah thats right..................rub it in..........
ya know I tease so much because I only wish I had all those cool mods. Someday when I grow up, I'll be like LoJacs' H2!!!

at least ours is the same color. Mom said that we should have things the same as closely as possible. I went the chrome route.

The entire rack minus the front I'd say is about the same height as the stock rails. The front however is obviously taller. I'll measure my garage and take a pic of the front of the rack at the opening which is the shortest part tomorrow when the sun is out.
Ok thanks...
Alright so my garage is the standard 7 foot garage opening. It's highlyannoying because after I'm past the opening the ceiling is much higher...
Anyway here's the pic, it look like I have 3.5 inches of clearance. It looks about 3.25" but it was the pic"

Sorry it took so long, photobucket was down for maintenance for a while.
