H2 Questions
So I am taking a look at an 07 H2 with 28K miles on it from a dealer. He is asking 26500 for it. It seems to be a good deal. I will know more next week. However it looks like it is a base model... in the descriptions and in the Pics there doesn't seem to be any options.
What would the packages be on an 07 H2? is there such a thing as a "base" model?
I am assuming that the Luxury, Adventure package, etc... have been offered for a while across model years correct?
I am not worried about getting a base model as I can always "accessorize" later on.
Anyways... would the above deal be considered a good one?
Thanks

Well on the H2, it's either a Lux or and Adventure edition.....most have the same options, except for the air ride on the Adventure version. You can definitely put accessories on it to dress it up your way....
I would keep checking on pricing to...seems a little high in this economy....just look on ebay to get a pricing idea

Thanks Solar Flare.
Yea it does look a little bit high, but here in Cali things are always "high"...
I am trying to sell my brand new 08 Mazda CX9 Sport...... that I just got 4 weeks ago.... so they will try and low ball me on the trade in......
I would keep the CX9 however the plan was for the wife to drive it and I would get the 4runner... however she refuses to give up the 4runner and the V8.. and I am tired of driving cars... I seem now to have the Hummer itch, and with gas prices low, and the optional 6yr/100k warranty I think that I owe it to myself to jump into a hummer.......can't wait....
Thanks again for the info

Not to be a smart a$$ but that seems like a good deal. I am in Michigan (****ty Economy all around!!!!!!!!!) and dealers WILL NOT budge on price and the H2's seem to be moving fast. I have found an '05 with 50k miles asking $24k and will not come down, '05 with 26k on it and asking $26k and will not budge. Ebay seems to be at the same price, some deals out of state but by the time you ship it in you are at or above local price. If I am missing something please let me know. I have the h2 bug BAD and simply can't seem to really find the right deal, I am going as far as looking at a limited edition 04 with 34k miles on it for $19k from a individual. To me the extra $5-$8k plus takes simply does not make sense for a year newer with as many or MORE miles. Again not trying to be a jerk just saying that I thought it would be a prime time to buy because of the econ but dealers seem to laugh when you mention moving on price, at least all the ones I have spoke to.
I thought initially that it was a good deal for the 07.. and one of the reasons that I was considering it.. (it is maroon.. not my favourite color...). However I have seen some lower on different for sale sites... usually due to higher mileage, but they have better accessories. The interesting thing on this one, was according to the carfax report the dealer bought it at auction. I know that there are some posts on here discussing the ability to get cars at auction... I just need to figure out if and how to do it. Then you could get some great deals....
I would jump on this, just don't want to get burned on the trade in...

Did some research on Auctions... and came across this.... while the site sort of trys to sell you on some car auction sites... it does give some interesting info.....
http://www.auto-broker-magic.com/car-auction.html
I found the you tube video interesting, as I have never been to an Auto Auction.
I think the other key is to understand the dealer wholesale auctions...... Supposdley we do not have access to those... but I wonder how hard it is to get a dealer licencse....
In Cali... getting a "wholesale license" is easy... just need to have a business license...

BTW I ran across some auction houses and looked as some of their previous auctions.... mostly 03 and 05 Hummer H2 with 40-60K miles... being sold between 19 and 22K

Agree, that seems like a pretty great deal for an 07. I just bought an 05 Black on black Lux with 26K milesin near-perfect condition (w/ Nav, Moonroof, brush guard, Bose premium, On-Star, etc.) for $29K+tax in Orange County, CA from a dealer. I found the dealers very reluctant to haggle much on the ones I looked atin SoCal. I would have loved to pay less, of course, but the "Invisible Hand" is what it is. Thus far, I love driving it in the snows of Big Bear, CA.
BTW, am I the only one that thinks the Hummer Nav is really sub-standard in comparison to say a $125 Garmin portable? I use GPSs extensively in aviation and in my other cars and motorcycles, and the Delphi in the Hummer is seriously fugly (i.e., very slow refresh and search; missing streets (virtually ALL of them in Big Bear); weak POI database; clumsy UI; etc.). Will the latest nav upgrade disk athttps://www.gmnavdisc.com/ solve any of these problems for $199? Or should I just get another Garmin Streetpilot c550?
Regards, Jim

Hi All... So I just came back from the small auto dealer that has the H2 that I am looking at.... It is a really great price, and they were very nice to talk with... Just waiting to see what they come back on with my CX9.... They even allowed me to look at the "manheim" report on what my CX-9 was going at wholesale..... man it is depressing seeing what prices I could have bought my vehicle with under 10K miles...
Anyways, the 07 was nice, but it was truly Base. I don't know if I like that huge overhead console.... I had sat in an 08 and really liked the new interior.... but if things go well, I will just have to get used to it on the 07..

Well, good luck with the H2.....pretty sad what vehicles are bringing at auction for your trade in.....that is why I sold my old H2 out right.....I was able to get approx $4000 more.....but hopefully the dealer will not low ball you on yours.....I'll keep my fingers crossed!!!
So the 07' doesn't have a sunroof???
