I have a 2003 h2 with the factory 6 disc cd player/stereo which does not work anymore, (cd player that is) part #15179349.

I purchased a used single cd/tape player stereo part #15195517. It turns out the dealer could not program it because it did not fall in the part number range for the 2003 h2 hummer. I did not know the factory gm stereos had to fall into a certain part number range for gm vehicles. I figured as long as i used a 2003 gm stereo out of a full size vehicle, it could be programed to my h2. It fit perfect. Plus no lights would come on the face of the stereo. Locked did show up on the display. The place i purchased the stereo from said the lights are not coming on due to programing and wrong part number for my h2.

I have a second single cd/tape player stereo part#15104158 which i was told came out of a 2004 h2. When i plug it in all the lights come on but it is locked. I hate to spend $25.00 again at the dealer for them to tell me they cant program it.

Does anyone know the 2003 h2 factory part number range for these stereos and if the above stereo part #15104158 will work? I called the dealer and gave him the above listed part number and he could not give me any info. He said it does not come up in the system. How could a gm dealer not find a gm part number.
