H2 Advice for newbie
We have an H3 and love it so it seemed a good idea to add an H2 to the family. We just brought her home last night. 2006, Luxury with nav, 3rd row seat, spare tire hanger etc etc. Burgandy....Love that color! Anyway....I am sure we will have tons of questions but here is my first one. It came with 20" chrome....they look great....but not too much like the diggers we have on the H3.....should we keep them? We were thinking it might be better to swap them out for something a bit more rugged. We do some four wheeling in our H3...nothing major but we do play in the mud and snow. Do you think our local dealer would be interested in swapping them? They have less than 20K on them. Might be far less....the H2 only has 20K miles and we don't know when these tires were added. Or are they good enough...and look cool and we should keep them?
next....best brush guard in black....she doesn't have one and we know we will need it!
Last question of the moment....the CD player....doesn't like our CD copies....are they all like that or is it just ours?
Not too fond of this nav system...didn't realize it had to have the disc in, can't play my tunes at the same time....easier to just toss our portable unit up on the dash!
Pics to be up soon.....somehow we get so busy playing around with our toys that we forget to take pics of them.
Oh...and for the humor of it....the dealership had an internet coupon for a free tank of gas.....bet they didn't expect to have to fill that bad boy up for free!!!! But I clip coupons!
If anyone gets together in the central Pa area....let us know...we are ready for some mud and to learn what this monster can do!

you can probably find some stock H2 rims on ebay for ~$25 each. then get some BFG a/ts for them and you'll be good to go. you can decide to keep the 20"s or sell them - personally i'd get rid of them, but it's up to you. i doubt the dealer will give you much of a deal on them. as for the black brushguard, i bought a takeoff from my dealer for $100. you may want to try that route first - if it doesn't work go the ebay route.
what part of central PA?

I don't know where Rausch Creek is but I am sure it is within driving distance of us. I have to get used to off roading first so I am not screaming in his ear the whole entire time! I am thinking about signing us up for one of the driving academy's just so I can gain some confidence and not be a nervous nellie all the time. We have taken the H3 off road but nothing too serious...or maybe it was and I just didn't realize it
We are both new to it so I am sure we have tons to learn and we are both excited to spend some time seeing what this monster can really do. We have the next two weeks off and we are planning to get it muddy while we have the time! Mud I can handle but hills make me shriek in his ear!

Hi guys, welcome to the forum. Congrats on the new H2. Everyone starts off as an off road newbie. Only way to get past that is get out an do it. Almost everyone will want to help you learn what your Hummers can do. My dealer takes stock and stock chrome wheels off of new cars all the time to put the big bling wheels and tires on. They usually have sets of the chrome wheels with brand new ATs on them for $275.00 each. That's mounted, balanced ready to go. I haven't seen the brushguards but that is worth a shot also. Call the dealers in your area and see what they have.

welcome,enjoy your new rig
