I get 8.5 no matter if I'm running 40mph or 95mph. No variance at all... 37" tires, full Gobi rack w roof mounted spare, hell of alot of wind resistance. Hoping these new gears will give me a little back.

Just completed a round trip coast-to-coast trip in our '03 H2. Strong head wind @75-80 7.0 (shifted to Tow/Haul and got it up to 9.7). 75-85 with A/C 11.3-12.3......Same strech of road no A/C it dropped to 9.7 weird. Trip back 3200 miles 48 hours = AVG speed 66mph
That's a lot of GAS! And that was with a 2 hour surface street detour around Little Rock, AR! They detoured ALL traffic through these side streets. I can't wait for the damage accessement as the next week it was flooded from the huricane!

I get 8.9 mpg since putting 37" tires on...honestly I don't care...if I was worried about mpg I couldn't afford it!

According to the auto mags I read, if your over 40mph roll your windows up and hit the air. It is the same difference.

I just calculated mine on a couple of trips. I run 40" Toyo MT's with 60lbs nitrogen, 4" lift, Gobi Ranger rack
Trip #1 I got 8.2 with a 16' enclosed v nose trailer w/ about 900lbs inside.
I got 10.4 without the trailer. It sure feels like it performs a lot better after hauling the trailer. could have been a tailwind. My computer says my average is 8.1 MPG. My wife's gets 10.6 with 35" Toyo MT's. Anyways it's never good at any rate if MPG is low enough to have to mention a number following a decimal point. The Duramax guys just use a whole number between 17 and 23.

Is that a legit stat on the weight? I've never owned an H1 but in all the reading I've done on the three forums, I recall the H1 being between 6500 and 7800lbs depending on the trim options and the H2 coming in at 8600 lbs.

The hummer H2 does not weigh 8600 lbs. You are confused with gross vehicle weight (max allowable weight) which is like 5 passengers, gear and 500 lbs tongue weight because of a trailer.
Real weight of you hummer if you compare with other vehicles is 6400 lbs which is plenty heavy

I recently switched from 37's to 35's and last weekend on a boyscout outing I did 15.6 miles per gallon with 4 boys and gear. Normal average is about 12.
Towing is below 10
My touareg did 14 mpg on 91 octane and my expedition did 12 mpg too.

The 03 H2 weighs 6600 according to the door sticker. I get 9.5 mpg in the city and 12.2 on the highway, and have for the past 5 years - very consistent. On the other hand, I drove a new Dodge caravan for a week awhile ago and obtained 12.6 over the week in the city. Considering what a POS that was in comparison, I'll happily take the 3 mpg loss.
