H1 'reliability enhancements' from mac motors
I clicked on the link for MacMotors (I don't even know if I qualify to buy from them), and I found a link related to reliability enhancements. These are what are listed:
Rear Differential Cooler
Power Steering Pump
Shock Absorbers**
Arm Bushings**
3-Piece Frame Rails w/ Improved Crossmembers** Increased Capacity Service Brake w/ Quick Pad Removal** Reduced Effort Steering Geometry / Linkage**
Geared Fan Drive (GFD)**
Cool Pack & Shroud**
24 Bolt Increased Load Rating Wheels** Geared Hub Assembly**
Dedicated Parking Brake**
Airlift Brackets**
Is it possible to add any of these things to a civilian H1???
I'm not too concerned about the Airlift Brackets. ;-)
Are any of these practical?

I guess I should have read the last question in the Q & A section:
"Can anyone buy parts from Mac Motors?
Mac Motors can only supply AM General HMMWV parts to the United States Department of Defense, DOD Contractors and municipalities owning and operating a military vehicle."
I guess I'm one of those guys that likes to also bypass instruction manuals. ;-)
If none of things are available through MacMotors, is there any source available that could supply a reasonable substitute? Is this even worthwhile???

Yes, indeed, 3hummers!
I did a little research by calling MacMotors, and spoke to Dwight. He was not well acquainted with the Civi H1, and referred me to Dennis from Hummer (Cadillac) of Novi, MI (248-476-4466). He said basically what you already knew!
So, I'll leave well enough alone. Maybe it's just 'newbie curiosity'!
Dennis stated that they have anything that AMG provides for our H1s. I'm inclined to think there is a premium price that goes with that. Any experience with them?
He also said good things about 'Hummer Part Club' and 'Rubber Duck'.
I'm thinking that it's always good to have as many sources as possible for these unique vehicles...

Tustin Hummer in Tustin, CA is one of the few AM General authorized parts dealers. They supply parts to many of the people the resell them so they can usually offer the best pricing. Dave at Hummer Parts Guy | Hummer H1, HMMWV Parts and Accessories gets some great buys on surplus parts.
