Hi Everyone -

I'm writing this post for my father who owns a 99 H1 w/ approx 30k and the engine is diesel. The truck is currently by his mechanic who is not a Hummer or a diesel mechanic.

It seems the truck will not start w/o help. What I mean is the truck had a no start condition. The mechanic verified the glow plugs had electric, etc and he changed the fuel filter. He told me he sprayed something and he got the truck to start. While started, the truck runs fine and strong. Throughout the day he drove the truck, went on errands, let the truck cool down and everytime the truck started right up.

Next day, truck won't start. Sprayed and the truck starts. Shuts off/starts throughout the day.

Truck sits overnight and the next day, doesn't start.

BTW, the PMD was changed last year.

Does anyone have any idea of what the issue could be? Also, we are in NJ. Does anyone know of an indy to work on the truck. Last time the truck needed service he ended up taking it to the former hummer dealer in Mahwah.

Did he check to make sure the lift pump was working?
