actually my wife got a bruise on her shin where it hit the glovebox.... the kids were fine...

I took a few advil because my elbow, wrist, and shoulder had slight pain for a day or so...

H3 ran over her blackberry, that she was talking on when she pulled out in front of me...

I swear I never even had the chance to hit the brakes, or put two hands on the wheel.

Hahah that's understandable! I have an h2 and all my friends and family agree my hummer feels big, safe, and planted. This coming from my sister who owns an armada, my friends who own jeeps, and my tuner friends. I think an h2 would be a great choice for your son. All of the creature comforts and amenities not to mention the safety features you were looking for. Also if there was a zombie apocalypse to happen, having an h2 would be better than any other guy on the block!! Hahah

I don't think you could go wrong with either for safety. I would test drive them both because you have a much better feel for your kids depth perception and attentiveness than anyone here does. Something I don't think people think about the H2 sits high at ~6'8" without a lift and stock tires. The H1 is wider than the H2 by about half a foot.
