Last weekend I drove from Valencia, CA to Las Vegas, NV - 272 miles.

I took 14 N - Pear Blossom Hwy to Victorville - N. on I15 through Barstow & Baker to Stateline and on into Vegas Baby!!!

I set my cruise the entire way @ 69MPH and using Premium (I have the tuner set to performance) got 20.45 MPG !!!!!!

Sweet - Not a Prius...but a whole lot more fun

 

with the larger tires and front end leveled that is great mpg. We went to Bakersfield and back from OC and averaged 15.3 mpg

Ok, OK...Now will somebody please tell me HOW a V-8 can get better mileage than my I-5? I have my thoughts but I'd like to hear yours. From one gear head to another....

I think the Alpha/V8 has 4.11 axle ratios that might help and the V8 doesnt have to work as hard as the I 5

 

I have an '07 H3 I5. When I was doing 70 -75 I was getting 16.5 mpg. Now I've slowed down to 65, I'm getting almost 20 mpg.

 

I am on on 6th tank of gas with this Alpha. 15.7 avg mpg with 35" BFG's.

I'm also running the SuperChips Programmer.

 

With my '06 I get almost 18mpg back and forth to work and a little over 20mpgon the freeway doing 70-75 mph. Before I did the PCMforless tune and got a K&N FIPK I was only pulling around 16mpg on the way to work and about 19 on the freeway. That's awesome mileage for an Alpha, but I think you are the exception to the rule.
